My Story

Everyone knows that exercise is good for you, but as soon as you become pregnant, all that goes out the window. It seems most people believe that as soon as a woman is "with child" she should become a couch potato. And not only is that acceptable, it’s encouraged. "You’re in a delicate state," "you shouldn’t be lifting that," "it’s dangerous to use your abdominals now," with advice and information out there like that what is a pregnant woman who wants to be fit and healthy to do?

That is the problem I found myself in when I became pregnant. I had been a certified trainer for years and was confident in my abilities. However, suddenly I was scared to exercise. And the other trainers around me didn't help. No matter what I did they would tell me, "you shouldn't do that while pregnant." So instead of taking their word for it I did the only thing I could, I decided to find out for myself.

Not only did I get two Prenatal Training Certifications, I searched and researched on-line, in books and asked many questions of professionals in the prenatal field. I was so relieved to find most of my questions were answered and I became confident that I could not only train myself during my pregnancy, but would also be able to train other pregnant women. I discovered that for women with an apparently healthy pregnancy, appropriate exercise was as good for them during pregnancy as it was before and after. Not only that, but it is being shown to benefit their unborn baby as well!

My pregnancy was a wonderful time for me, and I believe that exercise was a major contributor to that. Now I want to share what I have learned with you. If you want to be fit, healthy and sexy during pregnancy but are not sure how to exercise during pregnancy and what is safe to do, then Fit and Fabulous Pregnancy is for you!

I am in the wellness and fitness industry to help make you healthier and happier during your pregnancy and beyond! My mission is to encourage moms-to-be and new moms to be strong, healthy and fit. It is my goal to ensure that you and your baby are not only safe and healthy throughout the entire pregnancy, but also reap the benefits gained from correct strength training and proper nutrition.
